MMA Will Beat the $#!@ Out of Your Console

Keep Your Wrasslin’ in the Backyard!

Developer Kung Fu Factory is bringing the raw intensity of MMA fighting to consoles around the world on 20 September 2011. Supremacy MMA is proclaimed to “exceed the expectations of MMA and arcade fighter fans alike”, according to creative director Ricci Rukavina. Not much besides this apparent mash-up of traditional fighting game and brawler-style gameplay is known at the moment, but if the studio’s official bio on IGN is anything to go by, we can look forward to a game inspired by a “passion of martial arts and Asian action films.”

Publishers 505 Games are banking on the dearth of other fighting games available this holiday season, and have already postured themselves into several pre-order deals available through various retailers. US gamers pre-ordering at GameStop outlets will receive an additional fighter for their roster: undefeated heavyweight Shane del Rosario.

Armchair pugilists in the UK will be forced to wait until 23 September to get their hands on Supremacy MMA, and their pre-order bonuses will differ slightly depending on the retailer the order was placed at:

  • HMV – exclusive strip club venue, The Glass Slipper
  • – Slaughterhouse arena
  • GAME – undefeated heavyweight Shane del Rosario
  • – featherweight Bao Quach

Supremacy MMA is coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 console systems.
