House of the Dead Comes Shuffling to PS3

Hordes of Arcade-Shooter Fanatics Cheer in Eager Anticipation; Both Fans of the Uwe Boll Movie Lamely Raise a Half-Hearted Grunt

Sega has announced that one of the most famous arcade shooter cabinets, House of the Dead, is getting the HD treatment in October of this year. Coming to the PS3 and featuring full support for the PS Move, House of the Dead: Overkill – Extended Cut promises gamers a remastered version of the original game’s seven levels, as well as two brand-new stages thrown in for this release. Based on released screens of the game, two-player support is, as expected, included. Also along for the ride will be some form of 3D support, to make the game’s carnage more visceral. Says Sega’s Gary Knight:

The House of the Dead: OVERKILL – Extended Cut for the PlayStation®3 system will send players to the shrieking mad heart of mutant mayhem. This time we went further, faster and bloodier than before. We extended everything, even the title.

The walking (un)dead will be unleashed upon the States on 25 October, and in Europe on 28 October. In lieu of more tasty morsels of info, or brains for that matter, gorge yourself on these released screenshots.
