Witcher 2 Confirmed for Xbox 360…but Not Everywhere

Geralt Has Finally Hopped on his Broom and Is Coming to Consoles

Prior to this year’s E3, internet rumors and speculations were rife with an anticipated announcement from CD Projekt Red that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings would be ported to consoles. The game had already been well received by critics on the PC, and now console gamers were waiting for their turn to get down ‘n’ dirty in Geralt of Rivia’s world.

THQ is finally confirming what many have already been suspecting. In a press release dated 30 June, 2011, The Witcher 2 was confirmed to be appearing soon for the Xbox 360. However, there was one unexpected twist in the story: Currently, the markets slated to receive this adaptation are Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. No official announcement has been made for American markets, and there was no mention of other consoles.

The 360 version of The Witcher 2 will be an enhanced version; other than promising “numerous improvements and enhancements”, no further information has yet been made public. However, the release for The Witcher 2 on Xbox is rumored to be taking place late this year. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a speedy development and adaptation period.
