War in the North Trailer Features Questionable Gandalf Impression

Is That You, Sir Ian?

Upcoming RPG, The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, has received a new trailer depicting the player’s journey through Middle-Earth during the War of the Ring, and how your path diverges from and intersects with the Fellowship’s. It also features a narration by who I presume is meant to be Gandalf; I can imagine a quick email went around the office something along the lines of, “Yo guys, trailer’s done. Can anyone do a good Ian McKellen?”

War in the North marches onto Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC like an army of angry Uruk-hai this autumn. Meanwhile, feast your eyes on its incredible collector’s edition.

Haha, it’s not that bad! There are some moments where I cringed, but I’d say that if somebody came up to me and spoke like that I’d tell them they did a “bitchen Gandalf impression!”

I can’t wait for this – I love the LotR games. I just hope it doesn’t get bogged down by all the other releases later this year.

  2. Not knocking this game – it looks really good, and promises to be an exciting adventure, but how could this possibly tie in to the canon? Bree, Elrond, even Shelob… it doesn’t make sense to me how there can be so much overlap without destroying the timeline.
