Dead Island Zombies to Storm Peaceful Libraries and Bookstores

Print Is Dead… Island

All those of you who have officially thrown in the towel and declared your exasperated defeat to the steamrolling machine that is zombies in today’s entertainment media, you’d better crawl further under that large rock you’ve had your eye on, because when Dead Island releases this September on consoles and the PC, it’s bringing with it its older cousin, print media. Suddenly, no coffee shop, public transportation, or study hall will be safe – the official tie-in novelization can go anywhere its console counterpart cannot.

But fear not, as you readers are likely in for a treat! Penned by Mark Morris, winner of the British Fantasy Award and author of over 20 books, including several books in the popular sci-fi series Dr. Who, the novel promises to offer “a terrifying glimpse into the horrors thrust upon the four individuals who have unwittingly embarked upon the ultimate holiday from Hell.”

Morris declared his confidence in the fidelity of the project:

This is a rich, exotic world of well-conceived characters, stunning locations and all-out zombie mayhem. What really attracted me to the project, however, was the fact that behind the nonstop action is a complex and multi-layered plot.

The book will release alongside the game (but not packaged together) in September, at least in the UK, where it will be published by Bantam for the price of £6.99. No word yet whether it will also spread its plaguelike touch in the US.
