2D Side-Scrolling Returns in War of the Worlds
H.G. Wells end-of-the-world sci-fi classic will soon see a modern retelling, coming to XBLA and PSN sometime during October. Told through the eyes of a brand-new character, and featuring new locations and sub-plots, the game tells a tale that parallels those of the original book and film adaptation.
A 2D side-scrolling platforming action game, and likening itself to classics such as Prince of Persia and Flashback, the game will require you to make your way through alien-infested dystopian London while dodging spiders, alien tripods, and other dangers while trying to rescue your family from a certain fate of uncomfortable probing (or worse). As a final bonus, nerds the world over will rejoice at the dulcet tones of their favorite in-game narrator: the man who’s been kicking alien ass for decades, Sir Patrick Stewart himself! Because, let’s be honest, the Brits can make anything sound classy and debonair, even surviving an alien extermination.
